A pair of Wallaceburg men face charges, after two separate domestic violence incidents.

In the latest incident, Chatham-Kent Police Service officials say on Monday a man and his common-law began arguing at their residence in Wallaceburg.

Police allege the incident escalated into a physical altercation as the man assaulted and threatened the woman.

Police say she was able to flee the residence and call for help.

Through investigation, police learned that this was not the first time the woman had been the victim of domestic violence.

The 34-year-old Wallaceburg man was arrested and charged with uttering threats and three counts of assault.

He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

In the other incident, police officials say on Friday night a Wallaceburg man attended his girlfriend’s residence in Chatham.

At approximately 4:30 am. on Saturday morning an argument began between them.

Police allege that during the argument the male party assaulted the female and uttered threats to harm her, her son and pet.

The female was not injured during the incident.

Afraid for her safety the female left the residence and attended a neighbor’s residence to contact police.

The 38-year-old Wallaceburg man was subsequently arrested for assault and three counts of uttering threats.

The male party was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service and lodged pending a bail hearing.
