The ‘For Sale’ sign has been put back up at the former D.A. Gordon Public School.

Re/Max Chatham-Kent Realty Inc. has the Wallaceburg property and building listed back on the open market at a price tag of $385,000.

Alexei Roudakov, the owner of the building, told the Sydenham Current last month he was looking to lease some space at the former Wallaceburg school.

“At this point, whatever people need I am more than welcome to accomodate,” he said on March 10.

“It’s on a first come, first serve basis.”

The Sydenham Current has yet to speak with Roudakov about the building being back up for sale.

Roudakov said back in October, when he purchased the property, that his long-term plan for D.A. Gordon is to turn it into a private school, daycare and college facility.

Roudakov said last month this was still the case, however he was not yet ready to move forward.

“A school is a huge project,” he said last month.

“It’s not like a one-day project. If I decided it was going to be tomorrow, it’s not going to happen. I wouldn’t need such a huge space… even if I started in September, I still wouldn’t need that huge building. Part of it I would lease and for the long term.”

Re/Max has the property listed courtesy of Chatham-Kent Real Estate Board.

They describe the building and property as a “very large two storey school for sale in Wallaceburg with approx. 34,000 sq. feet of space.

“Approx. 21 rooms that are average 600 sq ft and up. Good for dance classes, exercise classes, training seminars, etc. This property is in very good condition, with a nice 2.83 acre lot,” the listing states.

The property is being sold ‘as is’.

The former school officially closed it’s doors in June of 2014.

The decision was made to close the school after a lengthy accommodation review process in Wallaceburg.
