The entertainment lineup at WAMBO 28 will feature some blues… and some blue suede shoes as well.
Bill Wolsing, the chair of the Wallaceburg Antique Motor and Boat Outing, told the Sydenham Current the opening Friday night (August 12) at 7 p.m. in the main tent area will be a popular blues band from the Chatham and Blenheim area.
“They are called ‘Blues on the Rocks’,” Wolsing said.
“The guys are a bunch of well seasoned musicians that put on a pretty good show. So it will be fun to have them Friday night.”
On Saturday night, August 13, ‘Elvis’ is alive and well.
“We are going to have Bruno Nesci… he is going to be doing an Elvis show,” Wolsing said.
“He will be doing a couple of sets. 7: p.m. Saturday at the main tent area and then we are also having the winners from the CBD Star Search, in their different divisions. The junior division and the senior division and from the regular show. So there is going to be about six singers that will be opening for a couple of tunes before each night during WAMBO weekend. I thought we will support that and show off some local talent too.”
Wolsing said the musical entertainment has become a fixture at WAMBO.
“We put a lot of pride in having a free show for everybody and that is because of the generous sponsorship from our local people in town here,” he said.
“It’s just a matter of making sure the weather is good for us.”
Wolsing said the WAMBO entertainment stage will have a different look this year.
“We have a different stage this year from the Tilbury Auto Mall… we lucked out with that,” he said.
“As you know it’s a big transport stage that will be here for us.
Wolsing said other entertainment is usually sprinkled in throughout the event as well, including at the K of C dinner on Friday night.
A good crowd is anticipated this year, as the Bothwell car show is being held the week before WAMBO.
“Every once in awhile Bothwell’s show is a week before or after us,” Wolsing said.
“You know they will appreciate the numbers as much as we will. Now we have car buffs going to both car shows.”
