Are you looking to set your kids up with some activities for the summer, which is just around the corner? The Wallaceburg and District Museum has some summer camp options to fill that role.

Michelle Bissonnette, the curator at the Museum, said specific details are still being worked out for the camps.

“Highlights from last summer include, water games to keep cool, outdoor activities, glow in the dark fun, scavenger hunts, opportunities for dress-up, friendly contests, movies, creative crafts, awesome keep sakes, cooperative games (both physical and mental-based), and exploring the museum itself,” Bissonnette said.

Running the camps this summer will be Wallaceburg’s Samantha Havens.

“Sam is from Wallaceburg and is currently enrolled in the concurrent education program at Brock University in St. Catharines, studying to become a teacher,” Bissonnette said.

“She has a lot of experience with supervising, entertaining and educating children, and specifically with designing and running the Museum’s summer camps. It’ll be her job to design the camps, plan the themes and activities.”

Bissonnette said some potential theme ideas include:

– Super Safari Adventure,

– The Dinosaur Age

– Spy Kids

– Wild West / Rockin’ Rodeo

– Christmas in July

– Throwback Thursday

– Under the Stars (camping)

– Adventureland

– Game Show Showdown

– Wacky Water Fun

– Cool Carnival

– Beach Blast

– Pixar Party

– Lego Land

– Walking the Red Carpet.

Bissonnette said there are a range of options in terms of cost for the camps, including discounts for multiple children:
