A FREE barbecue is being held at the Chatham-Kent EMS headquarters in Chatham on Friday in celebration of National Paramedic Services Week.

The week-long recognition is held from May 22 to May 28, which brings together local communities and paramedics to celebrate the dedication of paramedics who provide front line pre-hospital medicine.

It also helps raise public awareness about paramedic services, safety, injury prevention, and what to do in the event of a medical emergency.

Medavie EMS Ontario Chatham-Kent is proud of the amazing clinical work our paramedics perform on a daily basis.

Day in and day out they touch the lives of many patients and their families, as well as, being part of a bigger team within the healthcare community throughout Chatham-Kent and the Province of Ontario, Medavie officials stated.

On Friday, May 27th from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., there will be a barbecue and open house at their Chatham Headquarters at 337 Richmond St.

People are encouraged to drop by and get a tour of facility, get an understanding of what a paramedic does, and be able to meet and speak to some of the Paramedics who serve your community.
