Doris Ann Hill, a resident of Wallaceburg, died peacefully at Sydenham Residence on Monday, June 13, 2016 at the age of 87.
Doris is the daughter of the late William Herbert & Eva Clara (Conkey) Lockwood. Beloved wife of William Earl Hill since 1953. Loving mother of Timothy (Donna), David (Shelley) and Jennifer Hill (the late Scott Daly). Dear grandmother of Matthew (Jennifer), Brian (Jessica), Jennilea and Jonathan (Erin) and great grandmother of Avery, Braeden, Christian, Kaitlyn, Caroline and Mya. Predeceased by great grandchild Shelby Marie. Sister of Jean Dean, Marian Wright and the late Hazel Markham and the late Helen Ainslie. Doris will be missed by her nieces, nephews and friends.
She enjoyed watching sports on TV & she and Bill rarely missed one of Jen’s or Jon’s hockey games. Doris spent a lot of time running her children to sporting events and practices and enjoyed bowling with her friends. Mom always made sure that everyone was well fed, especially during harvest. After retirement from the Bank of Montreal she enjoyed travelling.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the HAYCOCK-CAVANAGH FUNERAL HOME, 409 Nelson Street in Wallaceburg from 10 – 11:30 PM on Thursday, June 16. The funeral service will follow at 11:30. Interment in McDowell Cemetery, Comber, at a later date.
