Chatham-Kent Lambton Administrative School Services is encouraging parents, students, school staff and motorists to recognize the importance of school bus safety during National School Bus Safety Week, Oct. 19 to 23.
The consortium provides daily bus transportation to more than 17,000 students of the Lambton Kent and St. Clair Catholic district school boards across Sarnia-Lambton and Chatham-Kent. This year’s theme is “Safe Ride, Everyday Heroes.”
School Bus Driver Appreciation Day will be marked on Wednesday, Oct. 21. CLASS is urging children and parents to thank the dedicated drivers who get students to school safely each day.
“This annual observance is a great opportunity for each of us to pause and reflect on the importance of school bus safety as well as recognizing the valuable work of our school bus drivers and operators,” said Kent Orr, CLASS general manager. “We ask that our students, families and schools join us in showing our appreciation to the dedicated women and men who keep our students safe on the ride to school and back home every day.”
