Dresden man charged with impaired driving

A Dresden man faces impaired driving charges after allegedly crashing into a parked car in Chatham.

Police officials say at approximately 2:45 a.m. officers responded to a collision on Orangewood Boulevard near Irene Crescent in Chatham.

The man had been driving on Orangewood Boulevard and struck the rear of a parked car on the side of the road, police officials said.

Through investigation, the officer on scene believed that the man was driving his car while under the influence of alcohol and placed him under arrest.

The man was transported to police headquarters for further breath tests.

A 25-year-old Dresden man has been charged with impaired driving and with having a blood alcohol concentration exceeding the legal limit.

Total damage as a result of the collision was estimated at $20,000.
