Impaired driving charges laid in Wallaceburg

The Chatham-Kent Police have arrested a man for impaired driving in Wallaceburg overnight.

At approximately 2:15 a.m. on Sunday morning, officers attended on McNaughton Ave. in Wallaceburg in regards to a disturbance between two parties.

Police say one of the parties attempted to leave the area in a vehicle but was located a short distance away driving on Murray Street.

A vehicle stop was conducted and through investigation the officer believed that the man was driving his car while under the influence of alcohol and was arrested.

The man was transported to police headquarters for further breath tests.

A Detroit, Michigan man has been charged with impaired driving and having a blood alcohol concentration exceeding the legal limit.

He has been released with a future court date.
