Sexual assault suspect sought by police

The Chatham-Kent Police Service are looking for the public’s help to locate a sexual assault suspect in Chatham.

Police officials say on August 2, around 3:55 p.m. a 64-year-old Chatham woman was walking on the path closest to the river in the area of the Thames Grove Conservation Area just off Grand Avenue East when she observed a man pleasuring himself.

The man grabbed the woman in a sexual manner and made a sexual utterance.

The woman was able to flee the area and contact police.

She was not physically injured during this incident.

Officers flooded the area, however the man was not located.

Police are now asking for the public’s help in identifying him.

The man is described as: white, approximately 50-60 years, 6’0”, 190 lbs, short light hair and physically fit.

He was last seen wearing a red cap and blue faded flip flops.
