Annie Sloan developed her revolutionary decorative paint over 25 years ago and decorative painting hasn’t been the same since. “Annie called her invention Chalk Paint™ because of the chalky finish,” explains Galvin. “There is no “chalk” or “powder” in this paint and although it is water-based, it is not latex either. It is a very unique formula that sticks to everything!” Diane further explains that Chalk Paint™ is Annie Sloan’s registered brand name – it’s not a style of paint. “There are lots of decorative paints on the market, but there’s only ONE Chalk Paint™”
Chalk Paint™ is user-friendly – it very rarely requires any preparation, such as sanding or priming, and you can use it on just about any surface.
