The soundtrack to WAMBO 28 will feature some blues this year… along with some “blue suede shoes.”

Friday evening (August 12) at Wallaceburg’s Antique Motor and Boat Outing will feature, Blues on the Rocks.

“A good tight, well seasoned band from the Chatham/Blenheim area,” said Bill Wolsing, chair of WAMBO.

“They are pretty active around the Municipality. I hired them as soon as I saw them play last year in Chatham. They are a good party band. Good fun band to watch and participate in. They go on at 7 p.m.”

Wolsing said prior to Blues on the Rocks, the winners from the past Homeward Star Search karaoke contest will be doing some singing.

“There will be two singers doing a of couple songs,” he said.

On the south side during WAMBO on Saturday, at around 11 a.m. some local karaoke singers will be putting on a ’50s styled show as well.

“They decided to do a special 50’s show just for WAMBO,” Wolsing said.

“I have been to a couple of their rehearsals and they are fun. They are all very good singers and I think they are just as excited about WAMBO and everyone else is. It’s Ron Barnier that is directing that show. He is the brain child of it all. They are going to do a couple hour show I believe.”

On Saturday (August 13) in the beer tent from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. a band called The 84’s will be performing.

“They were discovered by our boat manager at a place he was visiting to recruit some WAMBO boaters,” Wolsing said.

“They are all born in the year 1984. They have a fiddle in the band. They are a good Saturday day afternoon, toe tapping, beverage drinking, WAMBO band.”

The main entertainment on Saturday night will be Bruno Nesci, and his Elvis tribute show.

“Elvis… he is alive and well,” Wolsing said.

“There is a lot of Elvis tributes out there. I did a lot of research about finding a good Elvis and he is the guy from towards Toronto, outside the Hamilton area. He is going to do two sets.”

Wolsing said Bruno Nesci is a Collingwood Champion and plays the younger Elvis, not the older Elvis.

Wolsing said Jeff and Tim will be back on Friday night, playing at the K of C dinner.

“They are the usual icons, they are back by demand,” Wolsing said.

“They will be playing some acoustic versions of some good tunes. There will also be karaoke down at the karaoke tent on Saturday which is beside the library from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. approximately.”

Wolsing said more Karaoke champions will be performing on Saturday as well.
