A fire ripped through a home at 473 Brown Street in Dresden on Monday evening.
Chatham-Kent fire officials say the cause is still under investigation and is being determined by Chatham-Kent fire investigators and the Chatham-Kent Police Service.
An estimated $150,000 damage was caused, while $300,000 in property was saved.
“Following numerous 911 calls from the public, firefighters attended from Dresden to find a house fully involved in fire,” said Chris Case, assistnat fire chief, in a press release.
“Very large quantities of smoke were billowing from the property making firefighting operations difficult with the majority of the teams having to wear breathing apparatus. Due to the arduous nature of firefighting and the hot weather, assistance was requested from Tupperville, who also attended and helped bring the fire under control.”
Case said crews were on scene for three hours tackling the fire and dealing with remaining hot-spots.
The call came in at 5 p.m.
There is no word on injuries at the moment.
