The St. Clair Catholic District School Board has released its 2026–2030 Multi-Year Strategic Plan, outlining a long-term vision shaped by input from students, families, staff, trustees, parish partners and the broader community.
The plan, developed through surveys and focus groups earlier this school year, is built around the themes Believe, Achieve and Accompany, and reflects core values including faith in youth, joyful discipleship, respect rooted in love, excellence for all and accountability.
It identifies three system priorities: A Community of Faith, Excellence in Learning and Achievement, and Inclusion and Well-Being.
The board says the plan commits to strengthening Catholic identity and social justice initiatives, enhancing student achievement through evidence-informed practices in literacy, math and special education, and fostering inclusive and supportive learning environments. It also emphasizes experiential learning, transferable skills, responsible use of technology and expanded mental health supports.
Director of Education Lisa Demers said the collaborative process played a key role in shaping the final document.
“This plan truly reflects the voices of our community and will guide student achievement with purpose and faith in the years ahead,” she said. “We are deeply grateful to our staff, parents, community partners, parishes and most importantly our students, whose insights and experiences helped shape this vision for the future.”
Board Chair John Van Heck said the plan underscores the importance of governance and partnerships.
“As trustees, our role is to steward the mission of Catholic education with integrity and a deep sense of responsibility to the families we serve,” he said. “This plan reflects strong governance, thoughtful collaboration, and a shared commitment to leading faith-filled student achievement and well-being into the future. We are grateful for the voices that helped shape this direction and for the partnerships that will carry it forward.”
Alongside the plan’s release, the board launched redesigned board and school websites on April 1, 2026, aimed at improving communication and accessibility for users.
“Our families are going to appreciate how much easier it is to find what they need,” said Amy Park, associate director. “The new sites are cleaner, faster, and built with parents and students in mind. It’s a major step forward for our whole community.”
The board says the strategic plan and updated digital platforms represent a step forward in strengthening communication, deepening engagement and advancing student success across the system.
