An Ajax man is facing charges after a crash caused a chain reaction on the 402 on Monday evening,

OPP officials say on September 5, 2016 at approximately 6:45 p.m. members of the Lambton Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) attended the west bound lanes of the 402 Highway between Indian Road and Christina Street, City of Sarnia to investigate a multi- vehicle collision.

OPP officials say through the early stages of the investigation, it appears as though a tractor- trailer had been travelling west bound on the 402 Highway when it struck another tractor-trailer that had been stopped waiting to pay toll at the Bluewater Bridge.

The initial collision caused a chain reaction causing a total of three tractor-trailer collisions.

None of the involved people were injured.

The driver of the tractor-trailer that caused the collision, a 38-year-old male from Ajax, Ontario was charged with Careless Driving.

Three of the four west bound lanes were set to be closed pending the investigation and removal of vehicular debris.

The OPP were anticipating lane reductions for a significant amount of time due to vehicle damage and trailer loads.
