Police officials say on September 14, around noon, the principal from George P Vanier School on Cecile Avenue in Chatham contacted police in regards to a suspicious man.

At this time, the principal reported that an unknown man entered the school and was wondering around apparently looking for a washroom.

The principal escorted the man off school property without incident prior to police arrival.

The man did not come into contact with any students.

The man was described as white, 5’10”-6’0” in height with brown hair.

He was last seen wearing jeans, blue shirt with two-tone sleeves and black/burgundy straight brimmed hat.

This morning, police received information about two separate incidents that occurred yesterday in Chatham.

In the first incident, around 6:15 p.m. an unknown man approximately 20-30 years, approached a young girl walking near Madera Crescent and asked for directions.

The girl continued walking and did not interact with the man.

Police believe the vehicle may be a silver/beige Ford SUV with a loud muffler and orange stickers on the back window.

In the second incident, around 6:30 p.m. a young boy was approached by the same man driving the same vehicle a short distance away on Daleview Avenue.

The boy did not interact with the man and continued walking.
