Let’s take a look at what is going on this upcoming weekend in the area:
– The Wallaceburg Kinsmen are holding their second annual Pumpkinfest on Saturday. They have a kid’s zone being setup, a beer tent, pancake breakfast, BBQ, food vendors, entertainment by the Just Country Boys, craft show, silent auction, 50/50 draw and much more. The event runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. More details here.
– The Wallaceburg Fireworks committee is gearing up for our first fundraiser on our goal to put on a huge 150th for Canada Day in 2017. They are hosting a Back to School “Glow Dance” for students in grade 5-8 at the CBD Club on Friday, Sept 23rd. Read our preview story, here.
– The Wallaceburg & District Council For The Arts Singer-Songwriter Workshop and Performance Series kicks off on Saturday, September 24 at the Jeanne Gordon Theatre in Wallaceburg with a Songwriting Workshop and Performance with Jamie Warren. Joining Warren on stage for the evening performance on September 24 is Chatham-Kent’s rising star, Brooklyn Roebuck. Tickets are $25 and available from 99.1 CKXS and the Wallaceburg Museum. – The 29th annual United Way Open is taking place on Saturday. It’s a great time and an awesome way to help support the programs at the Wallaceburg Information & H.E.L.P. Centre. For more information please contact Brian Armitage, brian@uwock.ca or 519-628-5456.
– A charity BBQ is being held at Chris’ No Frills in Wallaceburg on Saturday. Come enjoy a hot dog or hamburger and drink for a donation. Proceeds going to the Wallaceburg Off Leash Dog Park. The BBQ runs from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
– A 3D printing workshop is being held at the Wallaceburg Library on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. It is intended for children ages eight and older. Learn how to create 3D designs and see the printer in action! Registration is required and space is limited. – The second annual Chatham-Kent Recovery Day is taking place Saturday. The event is geared towards celebrating people overcoming addictions. The event runs from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Chatham Banquet Hall on Merritt Avenue. It will feature a variety of activities including: BBQ, face painting, activities for children, displays from local service groups, and a positive message about recovery.
