Update: Mini bike and pick-up collide

A mini bike lies on the side of Dufferin Avenue (OPP)

Update at 9:43 a.m. – Chatham-Kent OPP are investigating after a crash on Dufferin Ave. just outside of Wallaceburg.

Police officials say on October 3, around 6:40 a.m., Chatham-Kent Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a motor vehicle collision involving a pick-up truck and an off road mini bike on Dufferin Avenue east of Highway 40.

Both vehicles were traveling westbound when they collided.

The driver, of the mini bike, was transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The driver of the pick truck was not injured.

OPP Traffic Collision Investigators (TCI) are currently on scene investigating the collision.

Dufferin Avenue between Arnold Road and Walnut Drive will be closed for approximately four hours.

Motorists will have to find alternative routes.

Original story: One person was sent to hospital with unknown injuries, after a crash this morning on Dufferin Avenue.

Sources say a vehicle and an e-bike collided, although this has not been confirmed.

Emergency crews were at the scene in front of the Glasstown Plaza at around 6:45 a.m.

Firefighters and paramedics could be seen tending to an individual on the ground.

Police remain at the scene investigating, and a road closure is in place between Running Creek Drive and Tulip Street.
