YA set to expand

A long-time employer in Chatham-Kent, is set to expand its workforce.

YA (formerly known as Young America) has housed its call center operations in Chatham-Kent for 14 years.

With an intensified focus on the Canadian market, YA is tripling the size of its office space in Chatham-Kent and plans on nearly doubling its employee base in Canada.

YA currently employs nearly 85 people in Chatham-Kent.

“The workforce growth focuses on the addition of contact center agents and supervisors in support of inbound and outbound customer support,” Chatham-Kent officials stated. “Company executives also plan on hiring additional sales and marketing talent who will be based in the Toronto area.”

To celebrate the company’s expansion in Chatham-Kent, Mayor Randy Hope and Geoffrey Wright, business development specialist with economic development, will join YA President and CEO Chris Behrens in a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Wednesday.

Mayor Hope is also set to recognize October 12 as ‘YA Day’ with a presentation of a certificate of recognition.

The ceremony will take place at YA’s new offices at 730 Richmond Street in Chatham.

For more than 40 years, YA has been a leader in the promotional marketing services space.

The company delivers digital, social, mobile and traditional promotions such as rebates/rewards, enter to win and loyalty programs.
