Michele Grzebien-Huckson, Executive Director of the Foundation of Chatham-Kent Health Alliance (CKHA), has announced her plans to retire at the end of the month.

Grzebien-Huckson has been with the Foundation of CKHA for over 18 years, and in the role of Executive Director for 12 years.

Having spent over 27 years in fund development, Michele has initiated and helped shape a variety of fundraising projects within Chatham-Kent.

Michele was instrumentally involved with the creation of the local Canadian Association of Gift Planners Roundtable, a group of non-profits who work collectively to strengthen the charitable sector within the community.

Michele has been involved with the majority of the capital campaigns for the Foundation of CKHA, including the $20 million “Your Health, Your Future” Capital Campaign completed in 2003. Michele has been an integral part of helping to raise over $40 million for local healthcare since 1998.

“Michele has provided strong leadership and has been a champion for local healthcare initiatives while growing the Foundation of CKHA’s community profile and donor reach,” says Jann Parry-Wickett, Board Chair. “Michele regularly contributed to the growth of the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance and the overall quality of healthcare provided within Chatham-Kent.”

The current Director of Development, Fannie Vavoulis, will be assuming the role of Interim Executive Director effective November 1, 2016.
