CKHA searching for permanent CEO – See video

The Chatham-Kent Health Alliance is looking for their next CEO, and the hospital has gone online with their search.

To go along with the above video, Waterhouse Executive Search Ltd. has posted the job online, outlining the qualifications for the position.

“As the ideal candidate and our new President and CEO you are an inspiring and empowering leader who is genuinely committed to the community based hospital sector,” reads the job posting.

“In addition, you will have a unique ability to build collaborative partner relationships with both our community and staff in order to move our strategic agenda forward in support of our vision – ‘to be an exceptional community hospital that is setting standards and exceeding expectations’.”

The position became available when Rob Devitt, the provincially-appointed supervisor for the CKHA, announced in September that former President and CEO Colin Patey was no longer with the organization.

On the same day, Ken Deane was named as the interim CEO.

Devitt had been appointed to his position by the Ministry of Health, after a two-month long investigation into the CKHA. The subsequent damning report by the investigator, Bonnie Adamson, blasted the now former leadership at the CKHA.

In recent news, the CKHA eliminated the Chief Operating Officer position as well, resulting in Sarah Padfield no longer being with the organization.

CKHA officials said their new operating structure “better aligns leadership portfolios with CKHA’s key priorities”, including:

– Delivering programs and services effectively and efficiently

– Supporting staff and a renewed emphasis on a healthy workplace

– Improving operating performance.

CKHA officials say the organization will begin recruiting for a Vice President with responsibility for finance, decision support, hospital information management, and operations.
