Her Honour, the Honourable Elizabeth Dowdeswell, Lieutenant Governor of Ontario will make an official visit to Chatham-Kent on Tuesday, November 1.
During her visit she will tour Truly Green Farms and take part in a roundtable discussion with Mayor Randy Hope and Chatham-Kent Community Leaders’ Cabinet concerning community sustainability and rural Ontario in transition.
She will also be hosting a reception during which she will meet members of the community and discuss her initiatives including the Visionaries Prize she is instituting to recognize and honour young, innovative and creative thinkers in Ontario.
Her Honour will deliver brief remarks at 5:30 p.m. at the Mainstreet Lounge in the Capitol Theatre.
Mayor Randy Hope said he is happy to have the Lieutenant Governor visit Chatham-Kent.
“It’s an honour any time we have the opportunity to show off our community to someone of the Lieutenant Governor’s stature.”
Her Honour, appointed in June of 2014, is Ontario’s 29th Lieutenant Governor and is the representative of Her Majesty, the Queen.
