Wallaceburg’s captured five gold medals over the weekend at the Swim International meet over the weekend.
The 16-year-old swimmer had an awesome weekend:
– First in the 50 metre back stroke, with a time of 28.54
– First in the 100 metre back stroke, with a time of 1:01.40
– First in the 200 metre back stroke, with a time of 2:12.64
– First in the 50 metre freestyle, with a new best time of 26.42
– First in the 100 metre freestyle, with a time of 59.09
– Third place finish in the 50 metre breast stroke, with a time of 34.16
The swim meet was held in Brantford.
Liberty scores four
Dresden Kings forward Dillon Liberty continues to light up the local Junior ‘C’ Hockey League.
After recent games with 3 and 5 goals, Liberty netted 4 goals on Friday night as Dresden topped Petrolia 6-2.
Will Tetzlaff and Dayne Davis also scored for the Kings.
Joel Sowinski made 22 saves in the win.
Liberty was not in action on Sunday, as the Kings fell to Amherstburg 3-2.
Geoffry VandenBoorn and Kadin Ritchie scored for Dresden.
The Kings now have a 9-11-1 record on the season, and are in 5th place in the Stobbs division.
Liberty is tied for the league lead with 48 points in only 20 games, and is tops in the league with 26 goals.
Dresden will host the league leading Blenheim Blades (13-5-2) on Friday night, and they will turn around and head to Blenheim on Sunday night for a home-and-home series.
Perry competes in World’s Toughest Mudder
Wallaceburg’s Joe Perry competed once again in the World’s Toughest Mudder event held in Las Vegas.
“I am alive!” Perry posted to social media.
“I’m overwhelmed by all the support off and on the course. As you might expect I’m a wee but weary right now.”
Perry completed over 65 miles, over 100 kilometres, in the 24-hour, obstacle-filled race.
