A weekend crash in Lambton County has turned fatal.
OPP officials say on Friday, November 19, 2016 at 2:20 p.m. the Lambton OPP commenced an investigation in relation to a serious collision within the intersection of 40 Highway and Plank Road in Sarnia.
The preliminary investigation has revealed that a transport truck and trailer had struck a small crossover type passenger vehicle within the intersection.
The transport truck driver was transported to hospital with moderate injuries.
The driver of the crossover was transported to hospital with serious injuries.
Police say at approximately 8 p.m on Friday, following the collision, the driver of the crossover, Shirley Gibson, 79 years-of-age, of Sarnia , died in hospital.
The investigation is ongoing.
Police officials say fault has yet to be determined.
