Assault and mischief charges laid in Wallaceburg

A man faces assault and mischief charges after an incident in Wallaceburg on Friday morning.

Chatham-Kent police officials say on Friday, November 25, 2016 at approximately 11:35 a.m., a man was driving on Base Line Road in Wallaceburg.

The vehicle in front of him suddenly hit the brakes and caused the man to take evasive action.

The vehicle then followed the man into Wallaceburg eventually swerving in front of him causing him to stop in the middle of the roadway.

The driver allegedly got out of his vehicle and walked up to the man’s car punching the widow causing it to crack.

The man got out of his car to confront the other driver and was punched in the head.

The man managed to gain control of the other driver until police arrived.

The man was not injured but his vehicle was damaged.

A 45-year-old Chatham man was charged with mischief Under $5,000 and assault and released with a court date of December 16, 2016
