Skating Club set for Christmas show

The Wallaceburg Skating Club will be holding their annual ‘Christmas Showcase’ on December 15.

The show will take place from 6 p.m. to 7:20 ‎p.m. at Wallaceburg Memorial Arena.

Admission is a monetary donation at the door.

The performance will feature all skaters from Canskate, to Senior and Synchro as well.

Cardinals win in boys hockey

Cole Mackinnon scored a hat-trick for the Lambton-Kent Cardinals boy’s hockey team, who topped Ridgetown 7-2 in the LKSSAA hockey opener on Monday.

Mike Mawlam, Zander Wright, Roy Hinnegan and Drake Daughterty also scored for the Dresden squad.

The UCC Lancrs also topped the Wallaceburg Tartans in boy’s hockey action, 4-1.

Cole McGregor, Wade Kosik, Calen Coristine and Alex Noorenberg scored for the Lancers, while Kyle Toulouse scored for Wallaceburg.

In girl’s hockey action, Ridgetown topped Lambton-Kent 2-0.

Seth sits

Wallaceburg’s Seth Griffith didn’t get the chance to play against his former team on Monday night, as the 23-year-old Florida Panthers winger was a healthy scrath.

The Boston Bruins ended up beating the Panthers 4-3 in OT.

Griffith has one assist in eight games with the Panthers this season.

Florida in back in action tonight against the Philadelphia Flyers.

Puck drops at 7 p.m.
