Kings top Lakers

Dillon Liberty padded his point total on Wednesday night, scoring 2 goals and adding 2 assists in a 7-1 Dresden Kings win over the Lakers in Wallaceburg.

Liberty now has 61 points on the season, 34 goals and 27 assists, in 29 games this season, 2nd in the entire Provincial Junior Hockey League.

Brendan Ritchie also had a four-point night for Dresden, scoring 1 goals and adding 3 assists.

Kyle Hachey, Kevin Ritzer, Steven Funk and Noah Fox also scored for the Kings.

Joel Sowinski stopped 24 shots for the win.

Nolan Farr scored the line goal for Wallaceburg.

The Lakers have now lost 20 straight games, and sit in last place in the Hobbs Division with a 1-28-1 record.

Dresden is now 13-17-1 on the season and is tied with Wheatley for 6th place.

Wallaceburg will travel to Amherstburg on Friday, while Dresden hosts Wheatley on Friday.

Both games start at 7:30 p.m.

Brodie heating up

Dresden’s T.J. Brodie is starting to heat up with the Calgary Flames.

The defenceman picked up 2 assists in a 6-3 Flames win on Tuesday over the Colorado Avalanche.

Brodie was +1 in 20:54 minutes of ice time.

The 26-year-old has 4 points in his last five games, including a goal against Arizona back on December 19.

In 37 games this year, he has 3 goals and 10 assists.

The Flames will host the Ducks on Thursday.

Seth scoreless

Wallaceburg’s Seth Griffith failed to register a point on Wednesday, as the Florida Panthers fell to the Toronto Maple Leafs 3-2 in a shootout.

Griffith was the second shooter in the shootout for the Panthers, but he backhand attempt was saved by Frederik Andersen.

The 23-year-old had two shots on net in 18:08 minutes of ice time, and no points.

In 20 games this season, Griffith has record 4 assists.

The Panthers will be back in action on Thursday night, when they host the Montreal Canadiens.
