An arrest was made on Sunday after the fire alarm was pulled at Sam’s Hotel in Wallaceburg.
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials say on Sunday, January 8, at approximately 7:20 p.m., Chatham-Kent Police officers were dispatched to the area of 1531 Dufferin Avenue in Wallaceburg, in response to a call of a fire alarm.
The Chatham-Kent Fire Department was already on scene.
They requested police assistance regarding a fire alarm, activated by a resident who was exhibiting psychotic behavior, police officials stated.
Due to the behaviour exhibited, it was deemed that the 39-year-old Chatham man posed a risk to himself and others and was ultimately arrested under the Mental Health Act and transported to Chatham-Kent Health Alliance for observations.
