Guitarists Michael Schatte and Tom Lockwood are set to perform in Wallaceburg at the end of the month, and they will also be teaching their craft as well.

The Wallaceburg and District Council for the Arts will be holding a concert at the Jeanne Gordon featuring Schatte and Lockwood on Saturday, January 28.

Doors open at 7 p.m. for the concert.

Both musicians are bringing their full bands for this performance.

“This will be something special and something never before seen in the ‘Burg,” stated Dave Elliott, president of the Wallaceburg and District Council for the Arts.

“Teacher and student get together for a very special night of music at the Jeanne Gordon Theatre.”

People can buy tickets at the usual spots: CKXS 99.1, James Street Eatery, McKellers Flowers in Dresden and from the Wallaceburg Museum.

Tickets are $25.

If you plan on bringing a group, call Jay Smith at 519-627-0007 ext. 227 in advance and have a table reserved.

Before the show at night, Schatte and Lockwood will be teaming up to hold a guitar workshop from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., right at the Theatre.

“If you’re a beginner or an accomplished player, you will learn something from this workshop,” Elliott said.

“It’s rare that world class guitar players run workshops in the ‘Burg. The added value is the interaction and networking opportunities with other guitar players… you might just find a friend or a group to jam with.

Tickets to the workshop are $40 and that includes a ticket to the concert that night.

Call Smith or e-mail him at jsmith@ckxsfm.com to reserve your spot.
