The Lambton OPP have been kept busy, as officers responded to two significant crashes involving transports.

OPP officials say on Monday at approximately 3:30 p.m. the officers attended a collision involving two tractor trailers on the 402 west bound in the area of Christina Street in Sarnia.

Investigation revealed that a fully loaded tractor trailer/car carrier was slowing for stopped traffic at the Blue Water Bridge toll booth when it was struck from behind by another tractor trailer.

The driver of the second truck, a 58 year-old Brampton man, was charged with careless driving and transported to hospital with moderate injuries.

The damage to his tractor trailer was significant.

The commercial truck lane remained partially closed for approximately three hours while the debris was cleared.

In a separate incident, at approximately 4:50 a.m. on Tuesday officers attended a single vehicle collision involving a tractor trailer on Rokeby Line near Mandaumin Road in Enniskillen Township.

Investigation revealed that a tractor trailer was travelling on Rokeby Line when the icy road conditions caused it to leave the roadway, enter the ditch and fall onto its side.

No injuries were reported at the time and no other vehicles were involved.

Initially the OPP delayed the removal of the tractor trailer due to poor road conditions.

Since that time the tractor trailer has been removed.

The investigation is ongoing.

Again, the OPP are not just encouraging but, telling motorists to slow down when driving in freezing rain conditions.
