Chili Cook-Off, new owner at Jersey Dairy, warm and rainy weekend

Let’s see what is happening this weekend across the region:

Chili Cook-Off

The Wallaceburg Red Devils will be holding their annual Chili Cook Off on Saturday at the CBD in Wallaceburg.
People are encouraged to come join the team for some great chili and to support the Junior ‘B’ lacrosse club. Cost for admission is $5 and there is a $10 entry fee if you want to enter your chili. The event will run from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

South Wallaceburg social

The South Wallaceburg Community Group is holding a FREE community lunch and social on Saturday. The event will take place on January 21 from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the Moose Lodge in Wallaceburg. Hot dogs and hot chocolate will be available and children activities will be held at the event. The official name of the group is set to be announced at event as well.

Lasagna at the Moose

Join members of the Moose Lodge in Wallaceburg from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. for a $10 Lasagna Dinner complete with Caesar salad and garlic bread. Tickets available at The Moose Lodge Bar at 110 Duke Street or call 519-627-8288.

Dresden Kinsmen Fish Fry

The Dresden Kinsmen is holding a Fish Fry and Dance at the Dresden Arena on Saturday night. Entertainment will be provided by Toast and Jam. Everyone is welcome and tickets cost $30. ‘Beer for a Year’ will be drawn and there will be a 50/50 draw. Tickets are available at McKellar’s Flowers or by calling 519-683-6161 or 519-683-4368. The event is scheduled to run from 6 p.m. to 1 a.m.

Chatham-Kent Wedding Show

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Chatham-Kent is presenting the Chatham-Kent Wedding Show 2017 on Saturday, January 21 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the John D. Bradley Convention Centre in Chatham. There will be fashion shows at 12 p.m. and 3 p.m. There will be a ton of exhibitors on hand for the event. For more information visit chathamkentweddingshow.com.

The ownership has changed hands at Jersey Dairy in Wallaceburg. Jeff Rosseel and his family have taken over the reigns. Lee Riedstra had worked at Jersey Dairy for over 50 years and has decided to retire. Congratulations to Jeff, Stacey and his family for taking on this new adventure!
