Investigation launched after Bush Line blaze outside Wallaceburg

Police are holding the scene and the Ontario Fire Marshal is set to investigate a fire that ignited at a vacant house outside of Wallaceburg early this morning.

Wallaceburg and Tupperville firefighters responded to a blaze at single storey home at 9576 Bush Line in Chatham Township at 1:44 a.m.

“The Office of the Fire Marshal and Emergency Management (OFMEM) will be conducting an investigation with the assistance of Chatham-Kent Fire & Emergency Services inspectors and the Chatham-Kent Police Service,” stated Whitney Burk, public information officer, in a press release.

Station #6 out of Dresden was called later on to assist.

There is no word on what caused the fire and no damage estimate is available at this time.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials say the farm house was vacant and was fully engulfed in flames when emergecny crews arrived.
