The fire early this morning in Dawn-Euphemia has claimed two lives.

Police officials say members of the Lambton OPP remain at 1287 Marthaville Road in Dawn-Euphemia Township as they continue to hold the scene for the Ontario Fire Marshall.

“The OPP can confirm that two deceased persons were located within the home,” Lambton OPP officials stated in a press release.

“The deceased’s persons have yet to be positively identified. The likely next-of-kin have been notified.”

Pending additional investigation, the Ontario Fire Marshall’s Office will continue to be the lead investigator on the case.

After being closed for several hours, Marthaville Road has been reopened.

Emergency crews, including the OPP and the Dawn-Euphemia Fire Department, responded to the blaze at 3:30 a.m. on Sunday morning.
