Wallaceburg woman charged with drinking and driving

A Wallaceburg woman facing drinking and driving charges following a traffic stop on the weekend.

Chatham-Kent OPP officials say on January 29, around 12:20 a.m., an officer was conducting RADAR enforcement on St Clair Street near Sugar Maple when they observed a northbound vehicle exceeding the posted speed limit of 50 km/hr.

The vehicle was stopped and upon further investigation, the female driver, a 38-year-old Wallaceburg woman was charged with the following offences:

– Drive motor vehicle with more than 80 milligrams of alcohol in blood, contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada,

– Speeding, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act

– Driver fail to surrender licence, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.

The accused is required to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on March 3, 2017 to answer to the charges.
