Bill’s International Pizza Morning Coffee Slice – By Aaron Hall
If the hype from any Super Bowl has ever lived up to expectations, I’d have to say it was Sunday’s game between the New England Patriots and the Atlanta Falcons.
Before the Tom Brady-led Pats started their epic comeback in the second half, en-route to a 34-28 OT win, I sat down with my family to begin, what might turn out to be an annual tradition (but probably not) – going through the Las Vegas Super Bowl prop bets.
After skipping a few of the bets on the 10 pages of options, the most excitement and discussion was sparked by the wagers about Luke Bryan’s national anthem singing and Lady Gaga’s halftime performance.
My parents and grandparents all thought Bryan would be over the 2 minute 9 second mark with the song, although Dana and I guessed correctly with him coming in at 2 minutes 4 seconds.
My Mom, Dad and myself were wrong when we thought he’d come out sporting a hat, and Dana was the only one of us to predict he’d be wearing “any other pants or shorts” other than blue jeans. Yes, the form-fitting pants were black… or were they dark blue? Does it matter? For all the ladies, here you go, you can decide.
My Mom was the only one of us to properly guess that Lady Gaga would come out sporting blond hair for her halftime show. And what a show it was! In case you missed, check it out here.
And while no one could have predicted the insane comeback by the Patriots, I did manage to top my grandparents, parents and Dana in successfully predicting the margin of victory… the Patriots by 1-6 points.
Do I have to go to Vegas to collect my winnings?
