Wine bottle thrown at police officer

handcuff 3

A Tilbury woman is in custody after hurling a wine bottle at a police officer early this morning.

Chatham-Kent police officials say in December, 2016 a woman was released from custody by the Windsor Police Service.

One of the conditions of her release was not to buy, possess or consume alcohol.

This morning around 3:15 a.m. police responded to a residence in Tilbury where the woman, who had been drinking alcohol, was now out-of-control.

When the officer arrived, the woman was standing at the top of a staircase, screaming and holding a wine bottle in her hand.

As the officer tried to speak with her, she threw the bottle directly at him.

The 21-year-old Tilbury woman was arrested and charged with failing to comply and assault police.

She has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
