Man dies after being run over by a skid steer

An Ingersoll man is dead after being run over by a skid steer.

OPP officials say on March 12, 2017 Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to assist London Middlesex Ambulance at a residence in Dorchester shortly after 12 a.m

21-year-old Riley Shannon a male from Ingersoll had been run over by a John Deere model 333E skid steer.

A skid steer is small sized construction equipment.

The male was transported to hospital by London Middlesex paramedics in critical condition and was pronounced dead at the hospital.

The OPP’s Technical Traffic Collision Investigators along with the OPP’s Forensic Identification Unit attended the scene to assist with the investigation.

At this time two 18-year-old men and a 19-year-old man, all from Thames Centre, all face the following charges:

– Theft over $5,000 contrary to section 334(a) of the Criminal Code

– Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death contrary to section 249(4) of the Criminal Code

– Criminal negligence causing death contrary to section 220(b) of the Criminal Code

– Fail to stop at scene of accident involving bodily harm or death contrary to section 252(1.3) of the Criminal Code

Middlesex County victim services attended to assist with the family members and others involved.

All the accused were held for a bail hearing schedule on March 13, 2017 in London Court.
