The annual ‘Sunshine List’ has been unveiled by the Municipality of Chatham-Kent.
Dr. David Colby, the medical officer of health in Chatham-Kent, topped the list, raking in $269,681 in 2016.
The list of Chatham-Kent employees earning more than $100,000 increased to 184 in 2016.
Shelley Wilkins, the director of housing, earned $227,399.52 in 2016, while Don Shropshire, the CAO in Chatham-Kent, brought home $212,542.52.
In 2015, the number of employees earning $100,000 or more was 165.
The 2016 list includes 97 members of the Chatham-Kent Police Service and 40 members of the Chatham-Kent Fire and Emergency Services.
Gary Conn, the police chief, earned $199,803.15 in 2016, while Ken Stuebing, the fire and paramedic chief, made $151,135.51.
Under the Public Sector Salary Disclosure Act, organizations that receive funding from the province are required to list employees who earn $100,000 or more annually.
Cathy Hoffman, Chatham-Kent’s chief human resources officer, said ten individuals appear on the list due to retroactive pay adjustments.
“It should be noted… that the Consumer Price Index has not been applied to the reporting process since its inception in 1996, which would otherwise have put the reporting level at $145,125 in 2016,” Hoffman said in a press release.
“At this level, C-K would have 17 names on the list.”
