Two former bosses were among the top earners in the local healthcare field in 2016.

Colin Patey, the former president and CEO of the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, topped a list of 60 employees for the CKHA, taking home $290,468.44.

Patey’s ouster was the first move made by Rob Devitt, the provincially-appointed supervisor for the CKHA.

The CKHA announced Patey’s departure on September 7.

Reports say Switzer was terminated without cause back on May 9, 2016, after working with the LHIN for about 10 years.

Ralph Ganter took over for Switzer on an interim basis and was recently named as the permanent replacement.

Ganter was second behind Switzer on their ‘Sunshine List’ earning $213,671.96 in 2016.

A total of nine employees were on the list for the local LHIN.

The top earner overall in the local healthcare field came from the Chatham-Kent Community Health Centres.

Vishal Chawla, a physician, earned $362,125.47 in 2016. David Lapierre, another physician with the CKCHA, earned $199,956.67 while fellow physician Paterno Serezo made $179,978.85.

CEO Lori Marshall was atop a list of 29 employees with the Erie St. Clair Community Care Access Centre, making $224,400 in 2016.

Marshall is now the president and CEO of the CKHA.
