A year after winning the youngest category in the Basso’s No Frills Junior Star Search, Watford’s Alexis Hockridge took the crown in the older category this year.
Unable to compete in the younger category this year after her 2016 win, the 12-year-old entered the 15-18-year-old division and was still crowned as the champion.
Hockridge brought the house down at the CBD Club with a beautiful rendition of Hallelujah by Leonard Cohen to seal the win.
Finishing in second place was Keira Shepherd, third was Lexy Banman, fourth was Kallista Everaert and fifth was Shelby Olmstead.
Also competing in the 15-18-year-old category was Jazlyn Boudreault, Miria Pelletier and Jordan Banman.
Santana Green was the junior champion this year in the 11 to 14-year-old category.
The final showdown was held on Sunday, April 9 at The CBD Club on Dufferin Ave in Wallaceburg.
