Happy Easter

From The Pastor’s Pen – By Brian Horrobin

Itā€™s Easter Sunday and I want you to go to church today.

Ok, I said it.

I stated what many would consider to be the obvious, but in actuality, it is not.

Our world chases after many things, but Jesus Christ is well down the list.

With so many options and choices out there for a Sunday, even Easter Sunday, why go to church?

Well, for starters, youā€™ll get a refresher course on the greatest event in history, the resurrection of Jesus Christ of Nazareth.

Thanks to reams of manuscript evidence, it is easily one of the most documented events of all time.

Secondly, this service is one that will inspire you.

The Lordā€™s resurrection details a sequence of events that take us from the depths of despair to the heights of hope.

Who doesnā€™t need that kind of message today, anyway?

Our nightly news is full of despair and discouragement, but the message of Christā€™s resurrection cuts right through this dense fog of negativity and brings us a fresh glimpse of hope.

I realize you may have a busy day with family already planned but starting it out in church, hearing the message of Christā€™s resurrection, would set the stage for a great day to appreciate those you love.

Oh, and donā€™t worry one bit if you are one of those people who only typically go to church on Christmas and Easter.

Let me share a secret with you: the pastor and most of the regular attenders will be quite glad you came.

Instead of feeling embarrassed for not having gone in a while, you can feel welcome and know that your presence is encouraging for those who are there.

So, what are you waiting for?

Drag a comb across your head, get out of your jammies, and head to the church of your choice today.

Youā€™ll be glad you went!
