Attempted murder charges laid in Leamington

Attempted murder charges have been laid following an incident in Leamington.

Police officials say on April 16, 2017 at approximately 2:50 a.m. the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to an incident in the vicinity of Oak Street East and Plumbrook Drive in Leamington, Ontario.

A 42 year old Leamington, Ontario man is in an area hospital with life threatening injuries as a result of the incident.

The OPP’s Essex County Crime Unit, Emergency Response Team (ERT), Canine Unit (K-9) and Forensic Identification and Photographic Services Section (FIPS) attended the scene.

A 32 year old male has been arrested for attempted murder.

The investigation is continuing under the direction of OPP Acting Detective Inspector Randy Wright of the OPP’s Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB).
