The Canadian Food Inspection Agency has issued a food recall warning, after various breaded chicken products were recalled by Maple Leaf Foods.

“Maple Leaf Foods is recalling various breaded chicken products from the marketplace because they may contain the toxin produced by Staphylococcus bacteria,” Canadian Food Inspection Agency officials stated.

“Consumers should not consume the recalled products.”

Here are the details of the products impacted:

Canadian Food Inspection Agency officials say if you think you became sick from consuming a recalled product, call your doctor.

“Check to see if you have recalled product in your home. Recalled products should be thrown out or returned to the store where they were purchased,” Canadian Food Inspection Agency officials say.

“Food contaminated with Staphylococcus toxin may not look or smell spoiled. The toxin produced by Staphylococcus bacteria is not easily destroyed at normal cooking temperatures. Common symptoms of Staphylococcus poisoning are nausea, vomiting, abdominal cramping and fever. In severe cases of illness, headache, muscle cramping and changes in blood pressure and pulse rate may occur.”

The recall was issued in Ontario and Quebec.
