The Municipality of Chatham-Kent has announced some fee and schedule changes to the CK Transit Conventional Service.
Municipal officials say the ‘Affordable Pass’ that was introduced in June of 2016 as a one year pilot program has been approved by council on a permanent basis.
The Affordable Pass is a monthly pass that is available only to those residents of Chatham-Kent that have an annual combined family income at or below the Statistics Canada before-tax low income measures for their family size.
In order to be eligible for the Affordable Pass, a completed application form along with supporting documentation will need to be submitted to the Civic Centre.
Applications are available online or at the Municipal Civic Centre in Chatham.

Other Conventional Service fare rates are on the rise and are effective July 1.
The changes include:
– Exact cash fares will be increased to $2.25 for a one way trip.
– Adult Unlimited Monthly Pass will be increased to $70.
– Student and Senior Unlimited Monthly Pass will be increased to $55.
– Cash pass off peak fare will be increased to $1.15 for a one way trip.
– Cash pass on peak fare will be increased to $1.80 for a one way trip.
