The investigation is on-going after a fatal crash near Pain Court.
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials say last night at approximately 11 p.m. a 46-year-old Chatham woman was driving eastbound on Grande River Line near Jacob Road in Pain Court, when her vehicle allegedly left the roadway and struck a tree.
Police say emergency crews attended, however lifesaving responses were unsuccessful.
Due to the severity of the incident, the Chatham-Kent Police Service Traffic Management Section was called out and has taken over the investigation.
“On behalf of theChatham-Kent Police Service, our thoughts and prayers are with the woman’s family, and at this time we are asking the public to respect their privacy,” stated Const. Kelly Helbin, public information officer, in a press release.
