Six people charged after drug bust in Tilbury

Six people face drug charges after a bust in Tilbury.

Police officiuals say yesterday evening around 6 p.m. members of the Chatham-Kent Police Service Intelligence Unit along with the Critical Incident Response Team attended an address on Coutts Line in Tilbury with a Controlled Drug and Substances Act search warrant.

As a result, six co-accused Tilbury men were arrested and charged with the following offences:

– Production of Cannabis Marihuana

– Production of Cannabis Resin

– Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Cannabis Marihuana

– Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Cannabis Resin

– Possession of a Controlled Substance Psilocybin

– Possession of a Controlled Substance Methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA)

All six accused were transported to Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters Unit with five later released with a court date of Thursday, July 20, 2017.

Also, police say upon search of the residence a number of firearms were allegedly located.

The 21-year-old Tilbury man who is also the homeowner, is not a holder of a firearms licence.

In addition to the above drug charges, the man was also arrested and charged with the following firearms-related offences:

– Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Weapon x 2

– Unauthorized Possession of a Restricted Weapon x 3

– Careless Storage of a Firearm x 2

– Possession of a Restricted Weapon with Ammunition Readily Accessible

He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
