A no show in court has led to an arrest for a Wallaceburg man.
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials say in March 2017, a man was released from custody for the following offences:
– Break and Enter
– Criminal Harassment
– Fail to Attend Court
Police say one of his release conditions was to report to Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters during a specific time every Saturday.
In addition, he was required to attend court on May 23.
However, police allege he failed to do both.
Therefore, a warrant for his arrest was issued.
Last night around 9:30 p.m. an officer was on general patrol within the area of Sandys Street in Chatham when he observed the man.
At 9:48 p.m. the 19-year-old Wallaceburg man was arrested on the warrants and charged for failing to comply and failing to attend court.
He was transported to Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters where he has been held for a bail hearing.
