Crash between dump truck and car on Hwy. 40

One person is in stable condition after a crash between a car and a dump truck on Highway 40 in Lambton County.

OPP officials say on Friday, July 21 at 6:30 p.m. members of the Lambton Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) attended 40 Highway near Courtright Line in St. Clair Township to investigate a collision between a Dodge Avenger and a Volvo transport truck.

Police say investigation revealed that the Dodge Avenger was travelling on 40 Highway when it allegedly crossed the centre line, failing to lawfully share half the roadway resulting in a head-on collision with a Volvo transport truck.

The driver of the Avenger had to be extracted by fire and ambulance personnel and was transported to Hospital as he had suffered significant injury.
