A Chatham man faces indecent act charges after an incident at a women’s softball practice in Chatham.
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials say on Tuesday evening at approximately 6:30 p.m. a man attended Sterling Park in Chatham where a woman’s softball practice was underway on the ball diamond.
Police say the man sat on the bleachers and allegedly began to inappropriately touch himself in a way that was visible to others.
A witness called the police and the man left the area, police say.
Police stopped the man on Park Street.
When the officer asked the man his name, he allegedly provided a fake one.
Through investigation, police were able to find out his real name, police say.
The 34-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with indecent acts and obstruct police.
He was transported to Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters where he has been held for a bail hearing.
