The 24-year-old winger ended up +1 on the night in 12:01 minutes of action.
He also saw 1:38 minutes of ice time on the power play as well.
The Sabres ended losing the game to the Carolina Hurricanes, 3-2 in overtime.
Buffalo announced they had signed Griffith to a one-year contract back on July 1.
The former London Knights star bounced around last season, spending time with the Toronto Maple Leafs and Florida Panthers, before finishing the year out in the AHL with the Toronto Marlies.
Buffalo will be back in action on Tuesday when they host the defending Stanley Cup champion Pittsburgh Penguins in pre-season action.
